First, I'd like to thank Apacolypse for inspiring me with his awesome custom, and his help getting me going in the right direction to build my own SkyStriker :D

My son, Austin helped and had a great deal to do with this over the last month or so, he helped paint, sand, and helped peel the labels I cut.

We did leave off some decals, I may add a couple more "no step" stickers, but I'm please with the overall appearance, since the labels were designed to fit the original SkyStriker, the stripes had to be cut to fit appropriately, and around the canopy did not come out as good as I had hoped, but not too bad for my first 'Joe custom :)

A great father/son experience for sure.

The Elite Operations FA/18 Hornet was completely disassembled for this custom. The paint was Krylon Fusion gloss white, with a Matte clear topcoat for durability. Custom stickers by the one and only J. Ruben.

Comments/crits welcome :)

Cool Hornet, got any Blue Angel Blue? It could be a covert ops vehicle or something.

Seriously it does look nice.

Awesome Job!!! :thumbsup

It looks hella cool...and I am glad that you and your son both enjoyed customizing it!

Be warned though....now you created a "monster". Your son will end up doing much like my son...wandering the toy dept. aisles...grabbing items and telling you: "We can paint this!!!" :lol

I wouldn't trade it for the world though. Glad to help buddy...keep up the good work! :thumbsup

Thanks. Yeah, unfortunately, the Hornet is all I can find around here, I'd have loved an F-14, but I really think the Hornet works well as an update.

Woa, what happened to your kids arms in the second pic! :confused :eeek

Just kidding, very cool custom, I am seriously considering doing that to my F-18, if I can ever find it in storage.

Good job and I can't wait to see what you two do next! :xmascheers

I agree it's very cool that you and your son did together. I got my son into this also and we both have an awesome time doing cstoms. Oh BTW I love this updated Skystriker it's flawless. When I saw it on Hiss Tank thing morning I thought hasbro did it.

Thanks for the kind words, guys!

Yes, the fact that I got to share the experience with my son was icing on the cake :D
