Mattel got the rights last year, and beginning this year, they now produce WWE product. As I understand it, Sarge's deal with WWE is dead, and he can freely sign the Joe deal.
I will need 2 of these. My Joes need a DI to whip them into shape, and I never saw the Build N Brawl Sarge.

According to a recent panel he did at Canadian Action Figure Expo last year, he owns the rights to his character, there was a lot of legal stuff involved, but he made it known how much he would like to be involved with Hasbro and be a GI Joe again, he hinted they had talked, but didn't give details.
I'm really stoked about this, I've done a few Sarge customs, but really glad we are getting an official one

Is there a way to order these figures without attending the SDCC? The last couple SDCC figures I got I had to get off ebay for a huge inflated price.

I've always wondered why they simply don't call him Sgt. Robert 'Slaughterhouse' Remus or Robert 'Sarge' Remus to work around license rights before this.

For a while he had a contract with Jakks Pacific to make Sgt Slaughter WWE figures, I don't know if it's an exclusive license or not, and even if it wasn't his likeness between WWE and GI Joe is too similar.

They usually put them up for order on hasbrotoyshop.com a day or two after sdcc.

And I am very curious to see what they come up with compared to all the customs that are out there of this character. I'm eager to see how hasbro compares to them.

They did a custom for SDCC a few years back. This might be a good idea of what they are thinking.
